Hall of Names "To talk about names, is to talk about real people, not just anonymous victims.--We are attempting to reconstruct the identity of people. As soon as a person is referred to by name, one can begin to connect to a personality…--the archived names are not just symbolic gravestones, but represent a dimension of  individuality and persona regarding those who perished.--three million names have been gathered and computerized.--Every name recorded-- against oblivion."
Alexander Avraham Director of the Hall of Names.

Yom HaShoah - Holocaust Remembrance Day. Yom HaShoah is a Hebrew phrase that means "day of the whirlwind"

[yellow star pink triangle]

" Those lessons must never be forgotten. But let us also not forget the millions of others who were  systematically eliminated by the Nazis: homosexuals,  Jehovah's witnesses, gypsies, the disabled, the mentally ill, trade unionists, political prisoners and prisoners of war.
anti-Semitism, racism, intolerance, nationalism, heterosexism, hatred and fear"

"The archived names are not just symbolic gravestones, but represent a dimension of  individuality and persona regarding those who perished. Names alone can impart information pertaining to  social status, profession, level of religiosity, geographical origins of the family and much more."

Alexander Avraham,  Director of the Hall of Names, hopes that eventually almost five million names will be recorded. Yad Vashem launched the effort this Holocaust Remembrance Day."With each name added," he believes "the memory  of a whole life is revived. Every new name recorded in the Hall of Names is yet another small victory against  oblivion."

"Names alone can impart information pertaining to  social status, profession, level of religiosity, geographical origins of the family and much more."

*8e Postmodern Masterpiece: No, what is in front of our faces is not always obvious. We must choose to pull back the fragile clasp to know what is behind the cover.

At the far left [the right facing the wall] a little stringy handmade book called Postmodern Masterpiece hung from a string.
It had an image painted inside, a painting of a flag, --white and red on black velvet.
There is a pocket on the opposite the painting on black velvet. It contained the above information. Information about this data project.

Postmodern Masterpiece relates to the instance that we have a clear historic example of what happens when certain philosophies in the postmodern category unfold in a modern culture. As artists, theorists and human beings we are responsible if we chose not to consider the total system that we contribute to.

If art and ideas are about real life then art is not frivolous unless reality is frivolous.
