imaging is  just  one  aspect  of  digital  media

I feel the need to qualify this due to an misconception that I am continually confronted with. It seems that many people confuse computer or digital art with the specific sub-section of digital imaging.

I must admit that I enjoy digital imaging. However I want to be sure that any audience who happens to view my digital images is aware that I do not consider imaging the only interesting characteristic of digital art. 

Digital is a zone that extends, and must be recognized to extend far beyond imaging. 

Digital art includes many aspects that are not visual. 

Digital Art is fundamentally conceptual and technological.
The visual arts lineage that contains photography and conceptual art may extend to digital art. 

Also the arts lineage that contains the evolution of theater and film may extend to digital art. Characteristics of theater arts include
cross-media, multi-media, 
action, interaction
audio, visual
literature, choreography
and so on.
