“When I first went to the class I wasn’t really interested in art. I didn’t think it was important to me and to other people… I learned that so many people are really interested in art… I also think that art is one of the most important thing(s) for those artists that want to show what is going on in the world…”
Josue Midterm

"I was finally able to understand what art is. I am glad I took this class and learned new things about art and a new respect for artists. I will definitely continue to cultivate my artistic knowledge now after completing my piece and completing this class."

The Midterm: Media
Students researched a medium, made a piece of art with it and present to the class discussing the research and production process...
Each student used a different medium.
The most common comment--It was challenging. Everyone brought food.
Students rated and commented anonymously as well as in discussion. They responded to form and content while evaluating craftsmanship, presentation and effort. It was a good day.
There was agreement that they learned a lot about appreciating art.

The Final: Message
Each student made a work focusing on and communicating content that was relevant to them, The written part of the final included describing their process and discussing what they learned.

Final presentations were moving.
Art certainly happened.
